Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is located in Beilu, Lishan, 30 kilometers east of Xi'an. It borders Lishan Mountain on the south and faces the Wei River. Construction of the mausoleum had started since Qinshihuang succeeded to the throne, lasted 38 years and involved nearly 800,000 workers in the peak time. The memorial park was built by imitating the capital of Qin-Xian Yang. It is like a Chinese character 回. There are double city walls around the mausoleum: the inner wall and the outer wall. The perimeter of the inner wall is 3870 meters and the perimeter of the outer wall is 6210 meters. At present, the discovered large-scale buildings above the ground include ruins such as repose palace, Bian palace and Yuansilishe. The seal of the mausoleum was constructed by ramming, forming a three-step shape. It looks like a inverted bucket with an almost rectangle bottom which occupied an 250,000 square meters area. The height of the mausoleum was 115 meters. However, due to erosion of wind and rain and human's damage for more than 2000 years, now the area of the bottom is about only 120,000 square meters and the height has also decreased to 87 meters. The whole memorial park covers an area of 56.25 square kilometers. Qin Dynasty is a glamour reign in Chinese history and the mausoleum was concentrated the best achievements of civilization in Qin Dynasty. The underground palace of the mausoleum is the core part of this construction. It's under the seal. According to the archeological findings, the area of the underground palace is about 180,000 square meters and the depth of the middle is about 30 meters. Centered on the seal mound, numerous attendant tombs are located in the memorial park. These attendant tombs are of abundant connotations and unprecedented scale. Besides the world-famous terra-cotta warriors and horses and the bronze painted horse-drawn chariots, other over 600 ruins including tombs buried large-scale stone armor, terra-cotta actors and actresses, terra-cotta officials and other attendant tombs have been discovered. Over the years, a total of over 100,000 cultural relics have been unearthed in Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor.
